Ladychild is the alias of Brooklyn based vocalist and songwriter Genevieve Faivre. A classical music school renegade, Genevieve abandoned her opera degree and set off to pave her way in the Brooklyn indie music scene. She recruited her most trusted music companions including her brother Andre Faivre (guitar, vocals), as well as two hometown friends; Forest DeCoste (drums) and Peter Esser (Sax). Since the beginning, the lineup has shifted here and there, but these 4 core members stuck by and have spearheaded the sound of Ladychild. With influence from all across the board, Ladychild has put out a mound of original work that has been described as a showcase of “extraordinary Indie material”by PopDust. Lemonade Magazine has called their music a “…beautiful meshing of genres that incorporates those wonderful rock elements and complemented with blues and dark pop influences. Think of Ladychild‘s sound as a layered mashup of Diana Krall and Fiona Apple with a touch of Radiohead experimentation.” In early 2018, Ladychild released her debut EP, as well as 2 music videos, and a PR campaign that was met with rave reviews. The members of Ladychild reside in Brooklyn, NY and continue to perform all over the big city. They are currently in the studio working on a new single.
