With Bill Galanin on guitar and Marty Kounitz on string bass, Beyond Blues is a duo that creates fresh tunes from jazz and blues standards.  Bill Galanin infuses well-known songs such as Autumn Leaves and Satin Doll with his unique improvisations.  Marty Kounitz backs Bill by linking the harmony and rhythm of these tunes, then adding his own eclectic solos.  Using little or no amplification, this duo of acoustic instrumentalists invites the audience to experience the music close up.
